they don't really travel the entire way with a motorcycle...
if you're even remotely interested in travelling anywhere, go see this movie RIGHT NOW!
this is by far one of the best films i've watched so far this year. gael garcia's been on my radar ever since amores perros and y tu mama tambien, but this is his best role. the story itself is your typical roadtrip movie but the journey portrayed is anything but. fortunately it doesn't fall into many pitfalls of roadtrip movies, probably thanks to the director's earlier effort the central station(a pseudo roadtrip movie about a kid and a lady who goes on a trip to find the boy's mother, if i remember correctly) which failed to win my praise but i can tell the director learned from the experience of that film and made a more coherent and tangible film with motorcycle. if you have heard anything about this film, it would be that this film shows che guevara(spell?)'s youthful days as he travels all over south america with a doctor friend. he encounters many social injustices that lower working class suffers and che forms his own thoughts and ideas reflecting his journey which ultimately leads to his role as a cuban revolutionist alongside castro. i don't really know much about him but now i'm inclined to learn more about the man and what he stood for. don't take my word for it, just watch this movie and judge it for yourself. even if you don't care or don't know anything about che(like myself) it's still a great and enjoyable film with depth and heart.
